In the 2024 legislative session, Rep. Williams continued to prioritized clean energy policy, reproductive healthcare, data privacy, LGBTQ+ equality, public safety, fiscal responsibility and more.
As Chair of the House Energy & Environment committee, Rep. Williams participated in weeks of negotiations to regulate the use of carbon capture and sequestration technology. Ultimately, the bill Rep. Williams passed was the strongest in the nation to regulate the use of CCS and maintains Illinois as a leader in environmental protection and climate crisis mitigation.
