Rep. Ann Williams Urges IDOT to Protect Pedestrians on Irving Park Road

On June 14th, in response to a series of devastating fatalities in the community caused by unsafe pedestrian conditions, Rep. Williams penned a letter to Secretary Omer Osman and the Illinois Department of Transportation urging for an immediate evaluation of Irving Park Road.

Senator Mike Simmons, Senator Sara Feigenholtz and Representative Greg Harris joined the letter; these colleagues together emphasized the critical need to improve conditions for pedestrians and bicyclists using Irving Park Road and other neighborhood streets.

Rep. Williams is continuing to work with her colleagues in the General Assembly and with Ald. Matt Martin in improving pedestrian use. Whether by foot, by bicycle or by car, our public ways must be safe and usable for everyone.
