Rep. Williams Featured in The Daily Line Article on CEJA

State Representative Ann Williams, in anticipation for the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act’s one year anniversary, spoke with The Daily Line to reflect on the bill’s progress and the ongoing commitment to clean energy in Illinois. Here is what she had to say:

“It just was such a long time coming and it’s been really exciting to see us moving forward and we’re already starting to see some positive impact,” House Energy and Environment Committee Chair Rep. Ann Williams

Conversations on implementing the bill are ongoing between lawmakers, stakeholders and state agencies, Williams said. Most of the conversation involves discussion about the “next steps” to implement the bill rather than making legislative tweaks, she said.

“I’m hopeful we can move forward,” Williams said. “It’s almost like a cascading effect. Once you start moving forward, other good things start happening in the space.”
