Representative Williams recently joined CPS Board Member Ellen Rosenfeld and State Rep. Jaime Andrade for a “How to Talk to Kids During Times of Fear and Uncertainty” virtual panel. As federal immigration action escalates and contributes to chaos and suffering in our community, many parents are struggling to explain current events to their children. Rep. Williams joined her elected colleagues, Amber Przybyla, LCPC of Northwestern University, and Dr. Stephanie Torres of UIC, to discuss effective methods of communication and stress management for children.

The expert panelists, both of whom are highly experienced in pediatric psychology, offered their advice on managing stress for both parents and children, as well as safe and responsible ways to discuss these sensitive topics with young kids.
