The Chicago Cubs on Saturday, July 17th commemorated the opening of “Champion’s Gate,” a new landmark in Gallagher Square outside of Wrigley Field, which is located in the 11th District. Representative Ann Williams joined the team at the opening ceremony, joining local community leaders, Cubs administrative staff and former players in celebration of the Cubs’ 3 historical champions of 1907, 1908 and 2016.
“Ten years ago, Cubs fans experienced the thrill of a lifetime when the team took home its first World Series Championship in 108 years. Champion’s Gate is an exciting addition to Gallagher Way and honors both that legendary 2016 run as well as the teams that won it all decades before. Be sure and check it out next time you’re taking in a game or visiting the neighborhood. What a wonderful reminder of an amazing season and that unforgettable day in 2016,” Williams said.
Champion’s Gate is located on Clark Street at Gallagher Square outside of Wrigley Field.
