Representative Ann Williams announced today via press release a series of hearings in Springfield on the effects of data centers on communities, energy bills, and water usage in the state.
“This is obviously a complex issue, and it’s important that we’re having consistent conversations with local residents and stakeholders,” said Williams. “We need to ensure that people feel like they have a voice in this matter. As data center development continues to grow in Illinois, we must listen to their concerns with responsible safeguards that protect homeowners from rising utility costs, preserve natural resources and recognize local concerns.”
