Recently, Rep. Williams joined her colleagues Rep. Sonya Harper, Rep. Kim DuBlucet, and Sen. Lakesia Collins for a student led summit on reproductive justice. The summit, held at Francis W. Parker High School in Lincoln Park, is in its second year as a student-led event featuring elected officials and leaders in the reproductive healthcare space. Rep. Williams spoke on a panel about elected officials and reproductive justice, and she highlighted Illinois’ role as a haven for women seeking healthcare from other states where restrictions are much greater. Williams has supported efforts like the Reproductive Health Act of 2019, which offered full legal protection for reproductive care and affirmed the bodily autonomy of all women in Illinois.
