Today, July 14th, Representative Ann Williams joined the Illinois Muslim Civic Coalition for an ‘Engage and Impact Day’. Together with Senator Sara Feigenholtz and Representative Margaret Croke, Rep. Williams learned about the growing small businesses, faith centers, and educational institutions in our district by and for the Muslim community.
ILMCC and our elected officials stopped by Kaathis (2273 N Lincoln Ave), a restaurant that offers authentic Indian Cuisine, as well as the beautiful Masjid al-Roscoe (1017 W Roscoe St) and the American Islamic College (640 W Irving Park Rd). The Masjid al-Roscoe is a mosque that Muslims from the area can visit. The American Islamic College is an accredited university primarily serving Muslim students, but is open to everyone of all faith backgrounds.
The Illinois Muslim Civic Coalition is an organization focused on civic justice for Muslims in Illinois. By sharing the Muslim American experience and story, ILMCC is ensuring that members of this community are seen and heard in our policies, state funding and advocacy work.
Rep. Williams is looking forward to future partnership with ILMCC to serve the 11th district community.
