Rep. Ann Williams Given a Score of 100% by Illinois Environmental Commission

The Illinois Environmental Council recently published their 2023 Environmental Scorecards, scoring all members of the Illinois General Assembly “based on the environmental impact of their voting record over the last legislative session.” Representative Williams once again received a 100% rating for consistently voting with grassroots advocates on environmentally just legislation. 

Among the bills that Representative Williams supported in the most recent legislative session were:

  • HB 2376, banning the use of environmentally-damaging polystyrene foam in restaurants in Illinois
  • HB 2879, expanding access to healthy and locally-sourced food in Illinois’ emergency food system
  • SB40, ensuring that new and renovated homes and buildings have conduits for electric vehicles 
  • SB 203, expanding and increasing punishments for improper use of pesticides

As chair of the House Energy & Environment Committee, Rep. Williams continues to lead the General Assembly in clean energy policy, constantly pushing for environmental protections and safeguards for environmental justice communities. She is the former Chair of the Illinois Green Caucus and is a current member of the Sustainable Fuels Caucus.
