Representative Williams and her staff had the opportunity to tour the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Otherwise known as Chicago’s Food Bank, the depository supplies the greater Chicago area food pantries with over a hundred million pounds of food each year. The food comes in forms of pantry items, fresh produce, and hot meals produced in their kitchen daily. The Greater Chicago Food Depository not only focuses on nourishing our neighbors who are unable to pay for food, but ensures dignity and health in the experience.
