Rep. Williams Chairs Energy and Environment Committee Hearing on Ethylene Oxide and Community Safety

Today Representative Williams chaired the Energy and Environment Committee’s subject matter hearing on Ensuring Safe Communities Statewide: Regulation of Ethylene Oxide Facilities. . The speakers included representatives from the House, Senate, Governor’s office, and Sterigenics.  As chair of this committee, the responsibility to ensure the safety of families and communities in Illinois is one Representative Williams does not take lightly. It is clear that attention must be paid to the impact of ethylene oxide in sterilization plants. We must listen to advocates and experts as we continue to regulate sterilization plants across Illinois.
